Apprenticeship Standard Engineering Technician - Engineering and Manufacturing - Level 3
This Apprenticeship Standard Engineering Technician is block/day release and is aimed at apprentices with roles in designing, building, servicing and repairing a range of engineering products and services. The following Standard reflects employers’ requirements for the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected from someone to be competent in these job roles. Engineered and manufactured products and systems that Engineering Technicians work on could involve mechanical, electrical, electronic, electromechanical and fluid power components/systems.
Engineering Operatives are predominantly involved in engineering operations which are key to the success of the Manufacturing and Engineering sector allowing employers to grow their business while developing a work force with the relevant skills and knowledge to enhance the sustain the sector.
The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers. Dependent on the sector that they are employed in there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area they work in.
This course is a Diploma in General Engineering. It is suitable for learners who want to apply for engineering apprenticeships or progress to a Level 3 Engineering course.
The course is aimed at those wishing to obtain a Higher National Certificate either to enhance their career or as a vocational path into Higher Education. The Edexcel Higher National Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a Level 4 qualification, consisting in a minimum of 120 credits, which can equate to year 1 of a Bachelor in Engineering (BEng) course of study.
The Electrical Engineering HND Conversion takes your Level 4 HNC up to a Level 5 qualification. This 18 month course broadens the scope of your technical knowledge, enhances job prospects and the opportunity to convert to degree level.
The Diploma focuses on performance using practical skills, knowledge and understanding and is an ideal pathway to a range of careers within engineering.
