Year 11 students from across Leicestershire and Derbyshire enjoyed a host of activities during their Experience Day with us last Friday.
From practising hairdressing techniques, making dog tag key rings, looking after our pet mascot Dolly and building a brick wall, students had the opportunity to participate in a range of activities.

Our experience days are the perfect opportunity for students to participate in taster sessions across the whole curriculum spectrum to enable them to not only understand the vast range of vocational studies available to them but to encourage students to try something new and maybe find a study programme they hadn’t even thought of. Elizabeth Miller, school liaison officer for the college and who organised the day said ‘By allocating activities we ensure students participate in four completely different taster sessions across our broad selection of study programmes, removing the stereotypical barriers that surround some professions. It’s rewarding to see students really enjoying themselves in activities they would normally shy away from.’
Visiting staff and students all thoroughly enjoyed the day and were impressed with the college.

If you would like your school to take part in one of our taster days or arrange a separate visit for your students please contact Liz Miller at
