Students can now access the fantastic facilities at our Brooksby Campus, with FREE transport provided for certain courses
Our students currently studying Animal Care, Sport and Uniformed Services, have been enjoying the fantastic facilities over at our Brooksby Campus for their practical activities.
Nestled in the heart Leicestershire, our Brooksby Campus is an 850-acre rural estate situated 6 miles outside of Melton Mowbray, offering a variety of land-based courses in addition to sport, construction and engineering. Facilities include a £4 million sports complex including a full-size 3G all-weather pitch, a dedicated Animal Care Centre, and a state-of-the art Equine rehabilitation centre.
Animal Care students have access to a wide variety of domestic and companion animals, and exotic species, such as reptiles, amphibians and aquatics. There is also an on-site dog grooming school, Equestrian Centre and a fully-working farm, where students are able to get involved with special projects such as lambing season in the Spring.
Our Sport and UPS students have access to professional-standard sports facilities, including a strength and conditioning gym, 3G all-weather pitch and sports hall with badminton courts.
Sport and Sports Science students also benefit from the College’s partnerships with professional clubs – Leicester Tigers Rugby Club, Mansfield Town Football Club and Leicester City Women Football Club all have pathways available for students to train and potentially progress with the teams.
Andy Graham, Curriculum Manager said “We are delighted that more students can now access the excellent facilities available at our Brooksby campus. The students are excelling in their new environment utilising a high-performance strength and conditioning gym, sports laboratory and further state of the art sports facilities to serve the curriculum offer for sport and UPS. The Animal Care Unit houses a multitude of different species of animal linking to all possible industry routes that learners may aspire to. Specialised facilities allow learners to fully apply theoretical content of the course into a practical context.”
From September 2021 all Animal Care, Sport and UPS courses are moving to our Brooksby campus but the College will still provide free transport to and from Stephenson College for all students in the local area.
