Student recognised for her sporting talent at the 2019 Derby Telegraph Sports Awards Ceremony

Megan Bo Neave, currently studying Sport Diploma Level 2, attended the prestigious Derby Telegraph Sports Award Ceremony as a finalist in the Disabled Sportsperson of the Year category on Wednesday evening. Held at The Roundhouse, Megan was welcomed with a champagne reception before enjoying a three course meal.

Megan is a dedicated swimmer, attending training at five o clock in the morning before arriving at college for her studies. She started swimming from the age of three and at eight years of age joined a swimming club. Her exceptional ability, attitude and determination has seen her excel at her sport leading her to compete all over Europe.

Megan was nominated for the award by her coach and other members of her swimming club, City of Derby , who are all impressed with Megan’s hard work and commitment to the sport and her ability to follow a gruelling training programme to achieve her goals.

Jamie Appleby, Sports Lecturer, stated ‘We are immensely proud of Megan’s achievements in both swimming and her studies. Despite the early morning training sessions she still manages to arrive at college on time, ready to learn. We wish her every success in her forthcoming National Competition.’
