Coalville Colour Run is hosted by the charity Living Without Abuse.
This is where people from all over North West Leicestershire came together to be drenched in beautiful colours and run the streets of Coalville on a 5k run.
Upon the race starting people gathered together in Needhams Walk car park, in Coalville, to share their excitement and throw colour all over each other!
Before the race started a big group was formed for a warm up exercise which please danced to the song ’'I Got A Feeling’’ by the Black Eyed Peas (this video can be located on our Facebook page: https://bit.ly/2DcngI1). To which then the marshals counted down and the race began!
Even though the race wasn’t a competitive race the first person to complete, completed in 19 minutes and 37 seconds, which is amazing!
At the finish line we asked some runners how it was and here are some answers:
‘’Amazing! It wasn’t a long run but the support you get from the other runners and marshals is such a nice atmosphere to be in! Also it was fun throwing colour all over people before the race started.’’
‘’I hate running, but when I saw this advertised I just thought it looked more fun than a casual run and I was so right! Everyone was so hyped to be here and you really absorb that feeling yourself.’’
We had a amazing time at the Colour Run and we want to congratulate everybody who managed to complete it. If you would like to get involved next year as a volunteer or even a marshal please contact Gina King by her email: firstname.lastname@example.org
