‘All staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable and positive’. Just one of the many positive comments we received from visitors at our open day on Saturday.

Despite the dreadful weather and the England Rugby World Cup Game, people turned up in their droves to take part in the numerous taster activities on offer, talk to our staff and learn more about studying at Stephenson College as well as enjoying the complimentary refreshments!

Students welcomed the amount of activities on offer, allowing them to try their hand at different vocational programmes and learn more about the courses on offer and their content to enable them to make an informed decision on their next steps into further education. Alongside this our apprenticeship advisors were on hand to explain more about apprenticeships and our careers guidance officer assisted students who were unsure of what to do after their GCSEs.

As a result, students were able to complete an application form and arrange their interviews and left the open day looking forward to returning in the coming weeks to secure a place on their preferred course.

Due to the high volume of students seen over the course of the open day, we are urging all students looking to study a course at Stephenson College from September 2020 to complete their application form as soon as possible. Students who are still unsure on what next step they want to take can contact us on 015430 836136 for further advice and guidance or visit us at our next open day on Saturday 8 February, 10:00 – 13:00. We are also running apprentice information sessions for anyone considering an apprenticeship or who wants to learn more about them during the Christmas holidays. Contact the apprenticeship team on 01530 519001 for further details and to reserve your place.
