An Information Technology (IT) course will give you a detailed understanding of what you need to make it in the ever-evolving world of business and IT.
Ultimately there are a huge variety of careers and opportunities in this incredibly exciting sector.
What’s happening in the industry?
The business and IT sectors are two of the largest employment sectors in the country right now with in excess of 5 million businesses operating across the United Kingdom and counting. In North West Leicestershire we’re home to a number of renowned national companies including Santander, IBM, KPMG and RBS.
Over time the sector will become more global, aiming to win bigger shares of established and emerging markets across the world, meaning exciting new opportunities.
The BTEC First in IT has been developed to provide full-time learners with the IT skills to progress onto Further Education by continuing to study at Level 3 and to prepare learners to enter the workplace in due course.
The BTEC Extended Diploma for IT Level 3 is suitable for students aged 16 upwards. The qualification is designed to provide work-related knowledge in a range of ICT sectors – to give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. These qualifications accredit the achievement for courses and programmes of study for learners. The qualifications provide career development opportunities for those already in work, and progression opportunities to higher education.
