Are you kind considerate and compassionate? Helping people to cope with their lives is very gratifying and provides an invaluable service for them. Our objective is not only to equip you with skills and knowledge, but to give you the understanding and experience that you need to develop a worthwhile career in this field.
What’s happening in the industry?
The Health and Social care sector is growing as people are living longer and have more complex needs: Over 53,000 people are employed in this sector in Leicestershire alone.
There is currently a skills shortage in this sector with a need for more care and social workers. As the adult social care workforce must grow by 80% by 2025 due to the anticipated demand, there will be opportunities across the country to break into this incredibly important sector.
This is predominantly a coursework-based qualification with two written exams. The units cover basic health and social care topics to prepare you for a career in a wide range of Health and Social Care settings.
