Bus PassES, Travel and Transport

If you are aged 16–18 and on a full time course we may be able to help with travel costs.

Transport Information for Students

Stephenson College will give each student aged 16-18, who lives over 3 miles away, £100 towards their transport costs.

Alternatively, students can be supported with transport costs through the College's Discretionary Bursary Fund, depending on household income. For further information please contact Stephenson College, Student Services (01530 836136, extension 219).

Commercially Available Options

Most commercially available season tickets allow you to travel at any time and on any day including weekends.

Leicestershire Students

Students living in Leicestershire, more than 3 miles from catchment school/college, aged 16, 17 or 18 on 1st September 2016, can apply for Post 16 transport assistance through Leicestershire County Council (LCC) - Leicestershire County Council (LCC) websiteLink to external website (opens new browser window)

Free Transport from South Derbyshire

A bus will pick up in Newhall, Swadlincote, Church Gresley and Woodville to take students to Stephenson College in the morning and drop off at the end of the day. See Free Transport to Stephenson College.

Coalville Campus Travel

Free Shuttle Bus

We offer a free regular shuttle-bus service from Coalville town centre to our Coalville Campus.

Learner Support Fund

The College's Discretionary Learner Support Fund can help eligible students who are aged 19+. Visit or contact student support for more information.

Nottingham Campus Travel

Free Shuttle Bus

We offer a free regular shuttle-bus service from Nottingham City Centre, Pick up point 1 on Mount Street (off Maid Marian Way) to our Nottingham Lenton Lane Campus. Please see below ‘Drop off points map’ to establish where Pick up point 1 is located.
