Apprenticeship Engineering Manufacture - Fabrication and Welding - Level 2

The course is structured around tutor-led demonstration of all the practical elements of fabrication and welding. There are practical assignments, designed to develop a thorough understanding of the subjects and how to apply them in a real-world situation. Question and answer is a method very much used to check the student's understanding and will support all practical demonstration activities. As an intermediate learner, you will be expected to produce completed practical assignments demonstrating good safe working practices and reports that reflect your understanding of the subject. It will be expected that all reports will conform to the appropriate standard of spelling and grammar commensurate with Level 2. All evidence will be gathered directly from the practical activities and entered into your own course handbook for final assessment. Formative assessment will be on-going throughout the course with feedback from your tutor. As the key part of the learning experience, you will have a full understanding of what is required of you and have every opportunity to develop your own techniques and understanding to the fullest possible. Your tutor will provide you with all the resource necessary for you to develop through stretch and challenge. The course is designed to provide a firm foundation for progression to a Level 3 apprenticeship.
