Apprenticeships are a popular alternative for many school leavers as they offer employment based qualifications. These Apprenticeships allow your child to ´earn while they learn´. Apprentices not only study NVQ´s but also gain accreditation for Functional Skills.
As an Apprentice your child will receive a minimum of £3.40 per hour.
With this great foundation to build on, your child will have a wide range of options available to them in the future.
Apprenticeships take between 13 months and 48 months depending on your child's ability and their employers´ requirements.
A full Apprenticeship framework includes:
An NVQ (QCF) Level 2 or NVQ (QCF) Level 3
A Technical Certificate
Functional Skills including Literacy and Numeracy
Employment Rights and Responsibilities
Your child must be 16 or over, living in England and not in Full-Time education.
Your child will also need an employer to sponsor their Apprenticeship. If they are not employed we will match your details against any vacancies we have on file while your child also applies for jobs.
The next step is for your child to select the Apprenticeship course they would like to take from the list on the right.
Then they must complete the online application.
When we receive your child's application we will contact them to progress the application.
The College has a dedicated team of advisers for Apprenticeships who can provide more information, please call on (01530) 519001 if you have further questions.
